Westboro Baptist Church...I am really trying to feel bad for them...
For those of you who haven't heard, a group of hackers, called Anonymous, are targeting Westboro Baptist Church.  WBC is a "Church" in Topeka Kanses who are widely known for protesting a funerals of people who were gay, or supported gay marriage.  They are very notorious for protesting at American Soldiers funerals, holding signs that say things to the effect of "Thank God for dead soldiers" or "God hates fags." I hate what WBC is doing in the name of God and in the name of His church.

Anyway, Anonymous has hacked Fred Phelps' daughter's twitter, shut down their website, released all of their personal information online including phone numbers, social security numbers, addresses etc., and has released the name of the hotel that they are staying at in Connecticut.

Why are they in Connecticut?  Because they are planning on protesting at the funerals of the children who were killed in the shooting on Friday.

These people make me sick.  I know that I should not condone Anonymous' actions because they are wrong.  But it is so hard not to cheer them on--and I kind of am--because WBC has caused so much pain to so many people over the years.  I don't know.  They have given us Christians a bad name and they just spread hate and filth where ever they go.

Maybe I shouldn't be cheering on Anonymous, but it's really hard not to at this point.

Here is a news article that may offer more information.

I completely agree with you. It's not right what Anonymous is doing, but Westboro Baptist Church is just...words don't cover it. As you said, they give Christians a bad name. They do nothing but cause pain. For goodness sake, the people whose funerals they protest at have *absolutely nothing* to do with the debate over gay marriage. I find it incredibly sad that the courts called their protests "protected speech." It shouldn't be, in my opinion. They have every right to voice their opinions, but no right to torment people who are mourning. Over and over the Bible talks about Christians showing love. These people certainly aren't doing that. It makes you wonder just where their hearts really are.

I have actually been doing a lot of thinking in the last couple of weeks about the WBC and I had a conversation with a friend of mine at school about my attitude toward them.

I feel bad because I get so angry with them and then I say stuff about them that isn't right, and it brings me down to their level. My friend at school pointed out that just like I strongly believe that the way they are going about it is wrong, they probably strongly believe that the way they are going about it is right. I don't know, it just really made me think about my attitude toward them.

So, I guess I've just decided that I am going to pray that God reveals His true self to them, because seriously, that would make a huge impact on the United States. Just imagine what would happen if the Phelps completely changed their ways and started loving people! I think that would be awesome!
